CORE/STRS Board meetings Jan. 19, 11:45 a.m: Meet the Candidates

Subject: 1/19: CORE/STRS Board Meet: 11:45 AM; 2nd flr Sublet Rm.: Meet the Candidates
Tom Mooney, Pres. of OFT will introduce OFT's 2 active candidates to us. Prof. Tom Hall will also attend to present his reasons for running. We have until 2/27 to return petitions to STRS for candidates of choice.
Please plan for representatives from throughout the state to attend so information can be taken back to your RTA's for distribution in your local school districts.
Regardless of outcome of choices, we plan to endorse only with NO negatives about other candidates; only CORE endorsed candidate strengths. We hope for the same from other organizations. However, we are a reaction based group and will respond to personal attacks or inuendo based statements if such arises.
We will have access to broader based information flow this year without all the major footwork we have had to do in the past few years. Of course, with further endorsements, it only adds to that base. I have also kept my active local school districts and many of us have contacts in many locals to circulate flyers and endorsements which many actives have come to rely on from us. We will be contacting you for circulation as in the past. All should do only what they can as each role builds into a major effort overall.
