Molly Janczyk: Decisions to make re: election

We have some decisions to make.

IF OFT does not back Prof Hall, we need to make decisions.

OFT has had 2 interested candidates going thru the process for some time before we contacted them re: Prof. Hall.

I have learned:

1. One is an African America Prof. as concern has arisen that we are a purely White board. I do not know the department yet.

2. The other is a classroom teacher with perhaps no background or little regarding board issues.

One of these is probably female as again educators are mostly female and the board is predominantly male. So, OFT is definitely looking to diversify.

The Exec. Comm. decides and Tom Mooney has given input to them which I have shared with you. I believe he wants some collaborative efforts with CORE and met with John and Dennis. Dennis and Tom both called the meeting successful and have many common areas regarding organizations and issues. I haven't spoken with John yet. Dennis was very taken with Tom's willingness to be blunt and share thoughts and felt he was honest and comfortable with them. Mooney asked for them to call him directly regarding any important issues. It was most congenial and wishes to collaborate on like concerns obvious.

But, if the Exec. Comm. decides to go with their 2 OFT candidates, we do have decisions to make.
