'A Call for Action' conference at STRS

Educators: I am sending a PowerPoint presentation presented March 15, 2011 at STRS during the A Call for Action Conference at STRS sponsored by OCHER/STRS [Ohio Council of Higher Education Retirees/State Teachers Retirement System of Ohio].

The first is an overview of what is happening in many states as part of a 20 year national plan to attack public education and send our pension system into a defined contribution plan and to then privatize public education.

This presentation was done by Tom Lussier of the Coalition to Preserve Retirement Security. Read it carefully and understand what is happening to us and why. You need to be informed to understand what is happening in Ohio. We are in a battle and all educators, active and retired, must stand together. To all the retirees who feel retirees don’t have a stake in SB 5, you couldn’t be more wrong.
