Hmm...will they be building a moat next?

Recently, one of our STRS Member Only Forum members was visiting downtown Columbus on a weekday and wanted to "drop in" to STRS. She was met with a chain in front of the door and written instructions to push the buzzer to communicate with someone inside. She then told the person on the intercom that she wanted to come into the building. The person told her that she could not enter the building unless she had an appointment!!!! This is a PUBLIC BUILDING and she was refused entry because she DIDN'T HAVE AN APPOINTMENT? Really?

Billy Neville, you might want to inform your minions that when you are a "public agency," you, without just cause, can not prohibit the public from entering your building. Billy, are you paranoid? Could that be the same reason that you had "crash proof" gates installed in your indoor parking garage also?

P.S. Billy, you already have a security force of 14 officers!
