Tom Curtis & Evelyn Cuthbert: Ramser response; motion issues

From Tom Curtis
December 25, 2005

Hello Evelyn,

Absolutely! Conni has tried to convince me that she has no other agenda. Right! She also tried to convince me that Jack Chapman was a good person. Right! Conni has been involved with the OEA her entire career. She is the president of her local union and has been on the OEA executive committee for years. She holds the same mentality and arrogance when answering questions, as anyone I have attempted to deal with in the OEA. She does not like to be questioned and never completely answers one's questions. She will provide you with nothing of substance. You know, like Damon. Besides, if she were to be elected in the spring, then she automatically becomes the chairman of the board next year. She is truly not capable of such at this time, but still desires the position and feels she is capable of it.

Let us not forget, Conni and Dr. Brown both received their positions due to OEA influence. They replaced OEA seats vacated by Hazel Sidaway and Jack Chapman and where appointed to those seats by our former OEA board. This year, due to default, they have obtained the positions of Chair and co-chair, which in my opinion should never have happened. Mike Billirakis should have been the chair and John Lazares the co-chair, as they were the only other two who qualified to take the positions. Mike chose not to take the position so Conni could step in and John has health issues with his knees and is a sitting superintendent and probably does not have the time to do such. It is my opinion that anyone appointed to the board should not be able to take either or those positions in the future.

Merry Christmas to you and yours,
Tom Curtis

Tom I think it is time for Conni to seek another board to be on and become an active member--instead of STRS. I am not pleased with her response or her actions. Do you feel the same?
