Jim Kimmel: If it costs them less, it should cost US less

Then can we assume that if something like this is passed a person would go to work after retirement to get additional income because his (unsubsidized spouse) health care insurance is so high and use only the employer's health plan while working and then when he is too old to work not be able to get back into the STRS plan ? It is interesting that this could go into effect after 2009 when the rule about using the employer's insurance when working instead of STRS goes into effect!! They you into a position that you have to work and then deny you the right to get back into the program! Not kosher!
What if he quits work when he is 65 and gets Medicare? Does this mean he and his spouse would not be eligible for supplemental insurance through STRS and have to go on the open market for a private (and more expensive) plan? Yes, this is a can of worms and guess who the head worm is !!
One other question: If WalMart and others sell prescriptions at such a low price that it is unnecessary to use your insurance for a prescription should we not see a reduction in premiums for our RX insurance at STRS ? IF IT COSTS THEM LESS IT SHOULD COST US LESS!!!
