Gov. Strickland to speak in Akron Jan. 18

From RH Jones, January 13, 2007
Subject: Gov. Strickland in Akron on Jan. 18

To all in Northeast Ohio,
Dr, K. Fluke and I will be going, weather permitting, to Columbus for the STRS board meeting this coming Thursday, Jan. 18. We both have planned to speak there. And we both have spent many hours preparing our two speeches. However, those of you who can not attend that important STRS/CORE meeting, please attend Gov. Strickland's Akron Roundtable meeting at the Tangier Restaurant on this same day. The Tangier is at 532 W. Market St. & the "open to the public meeting" is to begin at 11:45. The cost is $15. You may be able to talk up HC to him or at least will have the opportunity to ask him questions about it.
In many ways the meeting will probably be much like a SummitCRTA general meeting. I expect that a lot of important active/retired educator leaders will attend. At either meeting, please use this opportunity to move us retired teachers forward toward a better STRS. The news media will be there. Do not sit at home wasting your life; attend one of these important meetings!
