Subject: Warren Co. RTA on HB 151 and petitions for school funding; District II
Dear Lynne, (Lynne Bracy: District II CORE Rep)
Thank you for sharing what you are doing to help with these important issues. What a great job you are doing in District II and many thanks for attending the meeting in District IV: Warren Co. RTA. They are a great bunch, too, and always rise to help with every issue raised. Your efforts are priceless for retirees and we cannot thank you enough for your efforts. Let me know if you need anything. Thanks for the update on John L. too. He is still enduring far more than we hoped at this point. He says it could be month of getting back to health due to 3 surgeries on one knee. THANK YOU LYNNE! So much that CORE does goes unnoticed and unrecognized...........but we continue for retirees who cannot fight due to health, distance and age. I hope you know how much we appreciate your long term efforts and commitment. Gratefully, Molly J.

I called John (Lazares). His therapy sessions conflicted (with our Warren Co. RTA meeting today). Next meeting Dennis comes, so he will try then. All the scar tissue makes for very painful therapy. I believe he said he is back on pain meds. It just never ends.
Our group today was very hot about Shannon Jones, our rep who introduced House Bill 1512 We are hoping to inundate her with phone calls yet today. Marvin says I was very effective, taking two calls to get it all said and nearly crying at the end. I am so enraged about this. Why is it always the teachers they have to stick it to? Once when we taught, and again now that we have retired. I have e-mailed alerts to my District II presidents asking them to call their reps and Shannon as well. Hope that was ok.
We also had the man who is spear-heading the school funding amendment they want to get on the ballot in Nov. (Bill Phillis.) We had a petition there which we circulated. Many took additional petitions. We have until Aug. 8th. I also asked by District II presidents if they have circulated petitions. I have plenty to send to each, depending on how they reply.
