Info from STRS: Impact of drugs moving from Tier 2 to Tier 3 and vice versa

A couple weeks ago, I told you I would follow up and get more details on the number of drugs that moved from Tier 2 to Tier 3 and vice versa with the PBM change to Express Scripts. Below is some additional information.

1) Impact of drugs moving from Tier 2 to Tier 3

143 unique drugs moved from Tier 2 to Tier 3

45,845 enrollees were impacted

59,591 prescriptions were impacted

Of note: 36% of the 59,591 scripts were for Synthroid (thyroid medication)

2) Impact of drugs moving from Tier 3 to Tier 2

209 unique drugs moved from Tier 3 to Tier 2

22,618 enrollees were impacted

31,067 prescriptions were impacted
