Re: a public relations misjudgment by the Ohio legislature
My legislative news source informed me today that the H.B. 315 Sponsor Testimony has definitely NOT been scheduled yet. Rep. Oelslager reported that he is "hopeful" that it will take place yet this spring. And he will continue to "try" to gain support.
However, as retired teacher members of the Ohio STRS are heavily supplementing the STRS Health Care Stabilization Funding while still continuing to endure high health care (HC) Rx costs, they definitely stagger under this heavy financial load. And also, as high food and fuel costs continue to escalate, one wonders how in the world the legislature can waste time on classifying Alpaca animals - as that legislation has had a 2nd reading already! And what does that look like to the public? Therefore, a reasonable person can think that classifying an animal in the State of Ohio is more important than retired Ohio career teacher HC/Rx. I am personally happy that the Alpacas are getting classified, but sad that my fellow retired teachers do not yet have a steady stream of HC funding yet this spring.
My personal opinion,
RHJones a STRS Ohio retired teacher member & registered voter.

[I guess we don't have to wonder how they classify US! KBB]
