Jim McGreevy re: STRS Voting Problems

From Jim McGreevy, April 13, 2009
Subject: STRS Voting Problems?
We're now about ten days in to the voting period for the single "active" seat and the two "retired" seats on the STRS Board. The election is being managed by VR Election Services. Any STRS Ohio members who believe they are eligible to vote, and have not received a ballot package by now, should call VR Election Services’ customer service line toll-free at 1-800-218-4026. The customer service center is open 8:30 a.m.–5 p.m., EDT. The deadline for voting is 4:30 p.m., EDT, on May 4.
I have received very few reports of problems with the internet and telephone voting systems and thought I would send out a call to our emailing list to see what your experience has been. Use of telephone or internet voting reduces the cost of the election because paying the return postage is more expensive than the per-vote charge STRS pays when you cast your ballot on the internet or by phone.
If you have encountered any problem with the online or telephone voting systems, you may want to email a brief description of your issue to Laura Ecklar (EcklarL@strsoh.org) at STRS. This may aid her in addressing corrective measures with the company. If you would, please place my email address in the Cc: line of your email so that I may also be aware of the scope of any voting problems.
Exercise your franchise!
