Dear John:

Thanks for doing such a great job unearthing these articles about STRS and double-dipping. They certainly say exactly what so many of us have been voicing for the past seven years....to no avail, I might add.

This sort of publicity is going to be the death of any chance for pension funding changes. No legislator in his right mind is going to back an increase in contributions. I lay the blame for our situation squarely in the lap of OEA and their leadership who pushed for the changes in 1999 that led to this mess. Many of them, of course, are the very ones who have benefited the most from those changes.

It's a very sobering situation.
