From ORTA 8/31/22: New Facts on STRS Bonuses

 

DID YOU HEAR?

By now you’ve likely seen that STRS leadership

pushed through $10M in staff performance bonuses a

few weeks ago despite the fund losing $3 billion last

year.

 And newly acquired public records further reveal how

STRS bureaucrats are living the high life while at the

same time telling teachers to sacrifice even more of

their hard-earned benefits.

THE AVERAGE STRS
BONUS WAS
$105,000 PER PERSON

The average high school teacher in Ohio makes

$60,000 per year. The average annual benefit paid to

retirees is $44,000. STRS handed out $250,000 or

more in bonuses to five STRS bureaucrats.
