Judith Fisher resigns from STRS Board; cites personal reasons

From STRS, July 12, 2006
The State Teachers Retirement System of Ohio (STRS Ohio) announced that Judith D. Fisher has resigned her position as a retirement board member, citing personal reasons. Ms. Fisher was appointed to the State Teachers Retirement Board by Gov. Taft in 2004. The governor's office is responsible for appointing a successor to Ms. Fisher.
Conni Ramser, retirement board chair, said Fisher will be missed by her colleagues on the board. "Judith was an outstanding board member. We valued her investment expertise as well as her wise and prudent counsel regarding the retirement system's operations."
Amended Substitute Senate Bill 133 created three new appointed positions for the State Teachers Retirement Board. One position is appointed by the Governor, one by the Treasurer of State and one is a joint appointment by the speaker of the Ohio House of Representatives and the president of the Ohio Senate. These appointees serve four-year terms on the board.
