Subject: STRS Agenda Items of Interest on November 16
To all:
I have received a preliminary agenda for the STRS Board meeting on Thursday, November 16. Here are 3 items that I know are of interest to many:
11:00 a.m. -- 11:45 a.m. Report on Health Care, including the determination of Medicare Part B reimbursements for 2007.
1:30 p.m. -- 2:30 p.m. Public Participation, following the executive director's report at approximately 1:00 p.m. It is my intent to recommend a revision in the Board's Travel Policy after the executive director's report, and prior to public participation.
2:45 p.m. -- 4:15 p.m. Interviews and vote on Board Member replacement for Michael Billirakis. While the voting will take place in public, it will be done be secret ballot (which I disagree with). The person selected will be immediately seated. It is a 9-1/2-month appointment.
