Note from blogger
December 18, 2006
While I've been trying to sort through some 200 e-mails that piled up in my three day absence (OK, I went to the Stagg Bowl in Salem, VA to watch Mount Union win their ninth [of ten] NCAA Div. III football championship on Saturday, 12/16/06, defeating Wisconsin Whitewater, 35-16; great game), I've noticed some very nice e-mails from people thanking people for all the hard work they've done for all of us this year.
Remember, Time magazine has named YOU "Person of the Year" for 2006. This is doubly true for all who have put incredible time and effort into our cause: those who have been there from the beginning (early 2003) and those who have come on board more recently, as well as all those in between. So many people have done so much; I would hate to name names, for fear of leaving someone out. Dennis and John certainly lead the pack, though; no question about that. If you scroll through the 1,800+ posts on my blog, you will see the names of many others. The beauty of a group such as CORE is that everyone brings a unique talent that becomes an invaluable part of the whole.
We can ALL pat ourselves on the back for what we've been able to accomplish in the face of incredible obstacles. Thanks to all -- from all (I'm sure); our best quality is perseverance -- which means we can't and won't let up till the job is done. Our work is cut out for us, and Dennis and John need all the support we can muster; no letting up! Enjoy your holidays; get a good rest, because in 2007 we're going to be working harder than ever to save our pension and our health care and to rid the scene of those who would put themselves first.
