Subject: Re: In the spirit of open communication
Whatever happened to the legal system's involvement with the misuse of STRS funds and other illegal activities disclosed some time ago, that got retirees to take a closer look at the individual board members who served then? Where have these NEWER board members come from and how did they seize control of the Board, to the extent that Leone and Lazares have been maneuvered into an "Us against Them" position??? Names and faces have changed, but the tyrannical position that echoes the "awfulness" of where we have come from and out of remains, in ways that appear more evil and vicious that before. It's like a multi-headed dragon who has seized control, with no regard for reform and openness, and honesty. Where is this mean-spirited and infantile behavior originating? What is perpetuating it, and how in the world can it be stopped? Is there no legal recourse? How can actions and policies set forth by the Board continue to work against the thousands and thousands of retirees who put them on the Board in the first place?
In light of this continued struggle to make things right and stay that way, I have to wonder who is continuing to fuel the fire that still burns so strongly and what has happened to the determination to "clean house" and give the retirees a Board that is united in their purpose to assure retirees that their interests are uppermost in the minds of ALL the Board members. I see a very bleak and dismal future for the STRS Board if it continues to be divisive just for the sake of remaining loyal to former members who were removed for illegal involvements. I see a very weary and defeated Leone and Lazares, who have met head-on with other Board members whose only purpose is to block any and all attempts they make to "totally wipe the slate clean" and begin with a united Board, determined to work together for the good of the members of the State Teachers Retirement System. Methinks the apple is rotten to the core! Labels: Dennis Leone, John Lazares, STRS, STRS Board
