CORE voting eligibility and agenda for September 14 meeting

From Mary Ellen Angeletti, September 9, 2006
Due to questions about voter eligibility on Sept. 14th, we have restated here the decision which was voted twice by the CORE Advisory Board pertaining to voter eligibility for this FIRST election meeting ONLY.
As discussed at both the July and August CORE meetings and voted on by email on Aug. 19th and again on Aug. 25th, "A ballot will be given to each CORE member when they check in at the registration table. This would give us control over who receives a ballot and would avoid the problem of having to check voting eligibility".
"Only those folks who are on our current CORE membership roster and who attend the CORE Annual Membership meeting would be allowed to vote at this FIRST election meeting. Someone coming to the Sept. 14th meeting who wants to join CORE would be allowed to (of course) but would have to wait until the next election of September, 2007 Annual Membership Meeting to cast a vote."
We hope that everyone in CORE will understand that we made this decision in the interests of moving expeditiously through the sign-in procedure, the procedure for the consideration of the first ever proposed CORE constitution as well as accomplishing the hefty agenda for this Annual Membership Meeting.
