Molly to Ken re: Medicare premium rollback; Puckett suddenly springs to life

From Molly Janczyk, November 17, 2006
Subject: RE: Medicare vote
There was much discussion and Johnson, Lazares, Leone wondered what else could be done. It was said if this did not occur, next year would be even higher. I think Puckett was in there as well asking. Puckett was at his most interactive we have seen to date.
Lazares and Leone voted no to make the point and I think it was John who asked about the $1000 death policy and if it could be used to benefit retirees while alive. No, was the answer because it comes from another fund.
The rest voted yes to approve.

Hey Molly: The Medicare premium reimbursement was an issue of much interest here in Shelby County. I know from your notes that the "rollback" was approved on Thursday. Do you remember what the vote was? Thanks for all you do...
