Why did STRS even bother to agree to be "voluntary" about divestment if the Senate will take it up all over again ? I did not know people can be dolts and idiots at the same time but these legislators are! I only hope that Strickland would veto it or it would go to court as unconstitutional. It just shows how determined the bankers and brokers are to get our retirement money.

1.They just can't stand that a teacher (or police, fire, etc) group can have that much money. We are seen as underlings and lower caste.

2. Corporate America hates public retirement funds because they hold large numbers of shares of a given company and therefore can exert real pressure at stockholders' meetings where the number of shares equals the number of proxy votes. So they want to destroy the pension funds and have nice individual plans, all isolated and with no way to have a cohesive influence.
