Subject: SB 161, more appointed positions, additional monetary losses, and will the will of a few affect the wallets of many Ohioans?
Ohio Senate Bill 161 also includes the proposal below. So much for controlling state government costs! The sponsors of SB 161 want created a new advisory "Council" which also includes their actual and "necessary" expenses incurred in the performance of their duties!! Can anyone say g-l-o-b-e-t-r-o-t-t-i-n-g, e-x-p-e-n-s-i-v-e m-e-a-l-s, and f-a-n-c-y a-c-c-o-m-o-d-a-t-i-o-n-s? We retirees of STRS know exactly how this can happen, don't we?
Misery does love company however and - this bill also applies to just more than state retirement funds. Will the good intentions of a few uninformed individulas in high places cause Ohio's citizens AND governments hundreds of millions of dollars - if not more? It kinda' looks that way, doesn't it?
