Kathy,

Because we have lost in the lawsuit. It is necessary to make STRS lean. I believe we should make across the board cuts. Ford Motor and GM have made cuts to make their organization lean and we need to do the same. We cannot afford the bonuses and lawsuits from our retirement money. We therefore need to go back to levels before Herb Dyer took the reigns in 1993 and cut back to the employee numbers at that time. We should trim at the top as these are the highest salaries. Just like a school system, STRS is administrative top heavy.
