Sorry! There wasn't anything equitable among retirees for those of us who were forced to pay 100% of our spouses' health insurance premiums many years AFTER we retired. The pain wasn't equitably spread among ALL retirees was it? NOT! And they keep imposing greater pain on those of us who retired prior to the major changes of 2002. Equity?? What is that at STRS? Fairness? What is that? For some it's been a sweet deal, a real windfall! For the rest of us it's been struggling to have enough money to pay basic living expenses, let alone buy medicine and pay doctor bills. Fairness at STRS is a MYTH!
